Bromley CCG Christmas charity appeal success Staff from Bromley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) pulled together this Christmas to support two charity appeals within the borough. A staff raffle raised over £170 for Demelza Hospice Care for Children, whilst CCG staff generously donated many boxes of food, drinks and toiletries for the London Borough of Bromley Food Bank.

Staff selected Demelza as the charity they would like to support this year, and bought hundreds of raffle tickets to help raise money.

But it was the volume of donations collected for the food bank that really impressed. Large parcels of food, drinks and toiletries were donated from across all teams in the CCG, which required two cars to transport them to the bank on the morning of Christmas Eve. A list of essentials from the shelter was circulated to staff, who duly obliged as packets of pasta, shower gels, sauces and canned foods were purchased in great numbers.

Bromley CCG Director of Organisational Development Paulette Coogan, said: ‘Indicators of child health in Bromley are mostly rated better than the national average for most aspects. However, family homelessness in Bromley is rated as higher than the national average. We felt that these two charity appeals, entirely selected by staff, are very appropriate, and we are delighted to have supported them this Christmas.’ A spokeswoman from Bromley Food Bank went on to say that, ‘Staff at Bromley CCG have been very generous - this was our biggest donation in December. The average food parcel weighs 12kg and Bromley’s donation weighed in at 128.7kg; this really helped as Christmas is a busy period for us. Thank you to all the CCG’s staff.’ The CCG would like to thank the following organisations that provided prizes for our raffle • The Duchess Theatre in London • Nandos Beckenham • Bromley Football Club • Kent County Cricket • The Warren Conference Centre • Headmasters hairdressers (Beckenham) ENDS Notes Bromley Clinical Commissioning Group NHS Bromley Clinical Commissioning Group is a membership organisation made up of all the GP practices in Bromley.
