A SUSPECTED Second World War bomb has been found in a pensioner’s garden in Bexley.
Police were called to Venture Close around 9.30am this morning.
Inspector Colin Edge said: “A member of the public has found a suspected old Second World War bomb in their garden. We are getting an expert to assess it. We have evacuated the area and put closures up as a precaution.
“A metal object was found deep underground, we do not believe it to be a pipe.”
Elmwood Drive, leading into Nurchison Avenue remain closed.
