A group of swans lost the will to fly home from Thamesmead yesterday - opting to take a taxi instead.

Two swans and six cygnets were pictured at the taxi rank in the car park of Morrisons in Twin Tumps Way yesterday evening (September 29).

The picture was tweeted by 'Shox the Rebel' who described the scene as "madness".

The group of swans, known by bird enthusiasts as a wedge or bevy, were seen close to where a heron was pictured using a zebra crossing back in May.
