A £1.5m renovation programme at the Odeon cinema complex, in Beckenham, is due to finish in September.
Builders, who have been hard at work since April, will be adding three screens to the old ballroom area of the building and refurbishing the existing three screens.
They will also renovate the exterior of the building, double the size of the foyer, install new seating, projection and sound equipment and will restore long-hidden Art Deco features.
Residents were unhappy about the renovation because the ballroom would no longer be available for dance groups.
General manager Mark Wilkins said: “There will be more films, comfort and a better design to the building. We are looking forward to it all being finished.”
