YOUNG people turned the tables on Bromley police when they probed top cops about knife crime and stop and search tactics.

News Shopper went along to the question and answer session where members of Bromley Youth Council quizzed a panel from Bromley police, including Chief Inspector Marshall Kent and Chief Inspector Ian Gallehawk.

The Question Time event at Community House in South Street yesterday afternoon (August 21) was part of a week of crime prevention activities organised by Bromley Youth Council for young people.

Members of the BYC applied for a £10,000 grant from the Youth Opportunity Fund, to pay for a range of activities based on the theme of crime and anti-social behaviour.

The five-day programme which ended today, included a photography workshop about crime in Bromley town centre and a video project about police stop and search tactics.

With the support of Bromley Youth Services, BYC also ran workshops about gang activity, as well as street art, music and football projects for the young people of the borough.
