Re: "Road chiefs pull a fast one with fake roadworks to slow drivers".

The A2 has a high crash rating, largely due to excessive speed. If it could be proved that the actions of the Kent Highways Agency slowing down traffic has reduced casualties, then their action is justified. Many drivers are enemies to themselves, and threaten the lives of others. It is often no simple matter to effect road safety measures through official channels.

If one live is saved, and had that life been it that of Brian MacDowell, secretary of the Association of British Drivers, was one of them; then I am sure he would not hesitate to express his gratitude to: Road Safety protagonists, Highway and Police chiefs; who are drivers too.

From what I have heard he was run over by a tipper lorry on site. Now all work on the A2 M25 has stopped until it has been investigated.
How sad for the people involved. My thoughts are with you.
