A REPORT has identified one of the borough's bus routes as having a high crime rate.

The London Assembly report looks at crime and disorder on London's buses.

It says the 176 route running from Oxford Circus to Penge is in the top 10 routes for the most incidents reported by bus drivers from April 2006 to April last year.

There were 797 incidents reported on the 176.

The report says there were more than two billion passenger journeys on the cpaital's 750 bus routes last year and one crime for every 50,000 journeys.

London Assembly transport committee chairman Roger Evans said: "Anti-social behaviour and crime on buses remain a real concern for passengers."
