Airbags used to free man trapped under car after collision in Charlton
EMERGENCY services were called to a pedestrian who was trapped under a car after he was hit by the vehicle in Charlton last night (June 27).
Firefighters used airbags to lift the vehicle off the man in Wyndcliff Road so the ambulance crew could treat his injuries.
He was believed to have leg injuries including a fracture and was taken to hospital.
Fire crews from East Greenwich, Woolwich and Lewisham’s fire rescue unit were at the scene for around 80 minutes after being called at around 9.25pm.
A London Fire Brigade spokesman said a fight broke out between the pedestrian’s friends and the driver of the car.
