MOTORISTS travelling out of Kent using the Dartford Tunnels are facing rush-hour chaos following a crash involving a lorry.

Traffic is currently queuing for eight-miles on the M25 in Kent, close to junction 4 for Orpington.

Police were called to the accident, at the entrance to the west tunnel, at around 2pm this afternoon.

The accident involved a lorry and a black Volkswagen Passat.

One person suffered slight injuries following the crash.

Traffic was initially held at the toll booths before being diverted through the east tunnel.

Both tunnels re-opened at 3:30pm but delays still exist on the approach to the tunnels and on many surrounding routes.
