MOTORISTS are being driven to despair by an overload of signs, and it is impacting on road safety. What do you think?
Not just signs but also advertising boards, bollards, bus stops and other 'street furniture', which more than half of motorists think is making our roads too cluttered.
According to a poll, 53 per cent of drivers reckon street clutter regularly impairs their view of the road, particularly at junctions.
Four out of ten say they have had an accident or near miss because of cluttered streets.
Autoglass found one in four motorists think too many road signs are a danger, while a third saying confusing or conflicting signs make streets a danger to drivers.
What are your experiences? Are there too many distractions as you're driving along?
Signs are generally designed to make roads safer or provide more information to motorists - but are there too many, and would less be better?
Have you come across any pointless street clutter - such as useless signs which serve no purpose or unnecessary bollards which cause more problems than they solve?
If you're a pedestrian or cyclist, does street clutter also affect your safety? Are there too many obstructions on roadsides and pavements?
