A Tube driver on the Jubilee Line has been arrested over suspicions that he was drunk.

Transport for London have confirmed the driver "was relieved from duty after concerns were raised about his conduct" on Saturday (March 22) afternoon at Queensbury station.

According to the Evening Standard, the man had been on shift on the line - which runs from North Greenwich - for several hours and colleagues' suspicions were raised when they smelt his breath.

A spokesman for British Transport Police (BTP) said: "I can confirm that officers were called to Queensbury London Underground station shortly after 3pm on March 22.

"A 50-year-old man has been arrested under the Transport and Works Act and has been released on police bail until April 2 pending further enquiries."

A Transport for London spokesman said: "The member of staff is suspended while investigations by ourselves and the BTP are continuing."
