Drivers can expect queuing traffic in Catford after a four-inch water main burst in A205 Brownhill Road this afternoon (March 6).

Thames Water says it will repair the site after rush hour and customers can expect some disruption while it is being fixed.

There are restrictions and emergency repairs on A205 Brownhill Road from A21 Rushey Green to A205 Plassy Road with congestion eastbound to B218 Brockley Rise.

Lanes two and three are closed on the north-side of the one-way system, blocking the traffic on Brownhill Road into the one-way system on Plassy Road.

Bus routes which have been diverted are 124, 160, 171, 181, 202, 284 and 320.

A Thames Water spokeswoman said: "It is a four-inch water main which has burst. We are starting repair after rush hour.

"At the moment we do not beleive there are any customers suffering from a lack of water.

"There may be some impact when we start the repair.

"We are working with Transport for London."
