Maintenance on the Woolwich ferry jetty has started - with lane closures expected until the end of May when the work is expected to finish.
Transport for London are carrying out work refurbishment work on the 1960s jetty which gives traffic access to and from the A205 South Circular on the south side of the ferry.
But while this happens, temporary lane closures during operating houses could cause some delays for those using the ferry.
Head of London river services Andrew Thompson said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused to your journey while these essential maintenance works are ongoing. We are doing our upmost to ensure any delays are kept to the minimum wherever possible."
