A PENSIONER is seriously ill in hospital after being trapped under his van for several days.
The man, who is believed to be 65 years old, was pulled out by firefighters at around 7pm yesterday (September 24) after a neighbour in Northlands Avenue, Orpington, called the emergency services.
It is thought he had been trapped by the oil sump under the vehicle in his back garden.
He had a body temperature of 31C (compared to the normal temperature of around 37C) and was taken to Kings College Hospital, Denmark Hill, suffering from hypothermia and head injuries.
The road was closed until 9.30pm while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
Police are now trying to trace his next of kin.
