TELEVISION viewers in Kent may find their digital set top box stops working on Tuesday (August 5).

This is because there will be some technical changes being made to the Bluebell Hill and Dover transmitters to improve the Freeview network.

The majority of homes will not be affected but some of the older digital boxes will stop working.

If a box does stop working it will have to be replaced so viewers can keep watching Freeview channels.

The model numbers of the affected products are as follows:

  • Bush IBVCR01
  • Daewoo DS608P and SV900
  • Labgear DTT100
  • Portland DP100
  • Triax DVB 2000T The number of affected boxes represents around 1 per cent of all Freeview equipment sold to date.

More details including model numbers and photographs of the affected products are available at the Freeview website

  • Owners of Daewoo and Portland digital boxes can call 08701 002525 for more information while anyone with a Bush box can call 08712 301777 for assistance.
