A 45-YEAR-OLD woman who was attacked just yards from where teenager Jimmy Mizen was murdered last month claims her case is not being taken seriously.

Suzie George was punched in the face while paying for groceries at a mini market in Burnt Ash Hill, Lee, on June 10.

The personal assistant says police have been unhelpful in trying to find her attacker.

She said: "I was at the counter paying for my goods when a guy came and stood next to me.

"I could really smell him and he smelt of dead flesh."

Miss George says the man demanded she buy him cigarettes and cigarette papers but when she refused he attacked her.

She said: "He hit me straight in the face.

"He hit me so hard he cut my forehead between the eyebrows and broke my glasses.

"One of the lenses flew across the room and ended up in the back of the shop."

Fearing a further attack, Ms George then ran behind the shop counter and her attacker fled.

Miss George says after she reported the attack, police told her because there was no CCTV footage of the incident there was not much they could do.

She said: "You'd think they'd try to do more in the area but the police are not taking any of this seriously.

"All the police said to the shop owner was he should phone them if the man comes in again."

A Met Police spokesman confirmed the attack was being investigated but said there was no reason to suggest a level of disorder in Lee which required an extra police presence.

He said: "If anyone feels they have had a bad service from us, they should get in touch."

Sixteen-year-old Jimmy Mizen died after his throat was slashed with broken glass during a fight at the Three Cooks Bakery on May 10.
