POLICE are appealing for information after a man assaulted a teenager in Bromley.

The suspect grabbed the 14-year-old girl by the arm in the alleyway between Kentish Way and St Blaise Avenue after she refused to perform a sex act on him.

She managed to pull her arm free and walk off but the man then grabbed her around the hips.

Her screams alerted another man who ran up the alleyway to help her and the suspect ran off down the alley and into St Blaise Avenue after the attack at around 2pm on June 9.

The suspect is described as a Mediterranean looking male, medium build, approximately 6ft 3in tall, with black greasy hair in a mullet style with part pulled back into a pony tail.

He was wearing black jeans and a black and red stripped polo shirt.

He had sunglasses on his head, but was not wearing them, and spoke with what is believed to be a Spanish accent.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Emma Harvey said: "We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time - did you see a man matching this description? Do you know who he is? If so, please contact us.

"We are also keen to hear from the male who came to the assistance of this young lady, preventing the incident from escalating any further."

Anyone with any information should contact DC Emma Harvey at Bromley Police's CID on 020 8284 8859 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
