i thought the tolls were being taken away once the dartford bridge had repaid it`s 86 million pound loan. well it has repaid that several times over, no wonder traffic is solid going back 2 miles every day after lunchtime. and the attendants that reach their arms out and take your cash have no manners whet so ever.another money laundry hike by gorden.

They will never abolish the toll charge as it makes too much money, they best really they can doi is to make it free for local people in Gravesend etc like they are doing in Dartford, as this will reduce traffic on the a2 and tunnel/ bridge roads leading up to it. It's a real nightmare eveyday. Another tax on the motorist!

To make such a major crossing a toll-road with no real alternative (yes, that includes the even worse Blackwall car park!), when road tax should really cover is disgusting.
How about just making it a toll road for the endless procession of European traffic that uses it. Why on earth should we still pay?

It doesn't matter how many people sign it they will never ever ever abolish the charge. Just to add what 'RESIDENTS' said about the bridge being paid for, the original toll charge was there for when the actual TUNNEL was paid for!!! So if you think it'll ever be free to use the Dartford crossing then think again and again and again and again.

This country and its people need to assert themselves. Look how political other countries are. With rallies, marches, votes and a loud enough voice anything is possible! Come on people SIGN the petition, at least try.

I totally agree with you G, however you know as well as I do if they held a referendum on it, you know as well as I do that we'll still be paying for it. Just like the last elections, I dont know anyone that voted for Labour, I dont know anyone that voted for Livingstone and yet there they are still there??????

I think its a good idea to abolish the Dartford toll. It will ease the traffic a lot both ways. I see no reason why we should still be paying to use the dartford crossing in the first place, let alone thinking about increasing the charge.
