BORIS Johnson has urged Londoners to use their vote to stop the BNP winning next month's London Mayor elections.
The Tory candidate reacted with disgust after hearing the BNP is encouraging its supporters to put Mr Johnson as their second choice vote.
Voters get two votes for a first and second choice.
Mr Johnson said: "I utterly and unreservedly condemn the BNP and have no desire whatsoever to receive a single second preference vote from a BNP supporter.
"I hope as many Londoners as possible turn out on May 1 to prevent the election of a BNP candidate."
There are nine other candidates vying to be Mayor of London at the election on May 1.
The candidates are (in alphabetical order):
Brian Paddick - Liberal Democrats

Call me an old cynic, but where/when exactly did the BNP call upon it's voters to give their 2nd pref votes to him (Boris)? Could it be that he really does want their votes?

Who Would vote for an idiot who says these things?
Boris Johnson apologised again over race issues today after he was accused of condoning an article that claimed black people have a lower IQ. The Tory mayoral candidate came under fire from Ken Livingstone and a leading black lawyer over pieces published in the Spectator magazine when he was editor.
In one, columnist Taki wrote that “Orientals … have larger brains and higher IQ scores. Blacks are at the other pole.” In another, he described black American basketball players as having “arms hanging below their knees and tongues sticking out”.
When asked today if he had condoned the articles, unearthed by black newspaper-New Nation, Mr Johnson told the Standard: “I am sorry for what was previously written as it does not reflect what is in my heart.
“Ken Livingstone has nothing positive to say about the future of London, or the wave of criminal violence that has cost the lives of 11 young people killed on our streets this year, or yet another strike on our Tube which will disrupt millions of commuters next week, so he has again resorted to negative personal attacks.”
But the Mayor seized on the articles as further proof of Mr Johnson’s lack of commitment to a racially diverse city like London.
More here .
The New Nation article, to be found: here begins: “IT WAS a long time coming, but Boris Johnson has finally made a heartfelt plea for forgiveness after calling black children ‘piccanninies’ and saying Af r icans had ‘watermelon smiles’.
Eight months after the controversy erupted, the Tory candidate for London mayor gave his first genuine apology, saying he was really sorry for upsetting black people.
With his voice cracking in anguish, the Old Etonian also said he was sorry for an article printed in a magazine he edited in which a columnist wrote that Caribbeans were ‘multiplying like flies’. Johnson said the piece, written by Taki George, was ‘repulsive’ and begged New Nation readers to believe that such remarks were ‘not in my heart’.”
Parallels, we believe, could justifiably be drawn with recent events! So will the Tory’s Mayoral candidate withdraw now that a precedent has been set?

I was walking nr Southwark tube station the other day and people were handing out Anti-BNP posters. Whatever happened to this Freedom of Speech. I can imagine the uproar if I went out posting anti Ken or Boris posters.
Yes the BNP are probably the least qualified to have any kind of power in this country, but if people want to vote for them they should.
Afterall, if they actually start to win something relevant, then our current government might actually start listening to the public and deal with the problems that we despise. AntiSocial, Violent behaviour (knives, guns etc)- Immigration to name probably 2 of the biggest issues.
let the public decide

Wont be voting for Ken, he ignores the growing knife and gun crime in his London boroughs, has he done anything about it NO.Only when one of our MP's offspring is a victim of crime will they do anything. He seems to be just ignoring all this crime on our streets. Thanks but no thanks Ken

Is Boris going to stand-down as Mayor if it is clear that he is elected on a BNP vote? Is that how he intends to 'utterly' reject them? I suspect not.
Some Tories are now talking about giving Barnbrook their second preference (some even first!) in return.
The BNP are likely to win one or two seats on the GLA. We all need to think clearly and carefully what that means and avoid hyperbole.

Nice to see Boris, and Red Ken useing that very british fair play and DEMOCRACY telling people not to vote BNP. That should be a warning for starters, clearly knowing the BNP has a lot of surport now and it's growing, meaning Red Ken and Boris have no interest in the opinions of thousands of BRITISH people only there own opinion. FUNNY I THOUGHT THEY WERE THERE FOR THE PEOPLE NOT THEMSELV'S.

[bold]bold[/bold] I will be voting BNP for two reasons: 1)I am British and white and have been on the housing list for 7 years...no chance of even a tent let alone a house! It is not uncommon to see Somalians coming out of a semidetached! Have I done something wrong, or what?
2) The rhetoric of Boris and Ken force feeding us who we should and should not be voting for makes me sick!
Good luck BNP, I say!

I think it should be up to the Londoners to decied who they want to vote. I am against Boris, Ken and Brian's proposal of giving all illegal immigrants amnesty. That means we could have murderers, rapists and paedophiles on our streets, most are illegal because they have been rejected asylum.
Its today's policies that are making me vote BNP. Boris and Ken are the biggest racists for putting foreigners in front of born and bread Londoners.
By born and bread Londoners I'm talking about whites and blacks.
