A FAMILY was terrorised after armed robbers burst into their home and demanded cash.

The gang targeted Peter and Maria Bryan's home in Dursley Close, Blackheath, and stole the £2,000 the family had in the house to pay bills.

Lorry driver Mr Bryan, 43, was badly beaten in the raid and had to go to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich, to be treated for head wounds, black eyes and a broken foot.

Mum-of-three Mrs Bryan was threatened at gunpoint and the couple's six-year-old daughter was dragged out of bed by one of the robbers while being threatened with a gun.

Mrs Bryan, 39, said: "There was a knock on the door and I presumed it was one of my older daughters, who we were expecting to come round for dinner.

"I opened the door and saw a man in the doorway and he just pushed me.

"I ran in screaming and by this time there were three of them in my house."

She added: "They came into the kitchen and started beating my husband and screaming for money.

"They had a gun pointed at me and made me lie on the floor.

"I got punched in the side of the face and hit and told to lie there and shut up.

"I had to lie on the dog to stop them shooting it."

The robbers are all aged about 20 years old and between 5ft 6in and 5ft 8in.

One of the men was mixed race, while the second was black and had a bigger build.

The third man was black and was much bigger. He is believed to weigh about 13st or 14st.

Investigating officer Detective Constable William Wixey said: "The robbery which took place in Dursley Close was an extremely intimidating experience which left the victims distressed.

"We want to find these people before somebody else suffers at their hands.

"I would urge anybody with information to contact the Greenwich Robbery Squad."

Anyone with information about the robbery, which happened at just after 7.30pm on January 7, should call police on 020 8284 9579 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
