POLICE are baffled by the circumstances surrounding the death of an elderly man.
Edward Flood, 67, from Dando Crescent, Kidbrooke, was found collapsed at the entrance to a block of flats in Kingsbury Road, Islington, at 2am on January 5.
He was taken to Homerton Hospital in Hackney, where he was pronounced dead.
A post-mortem examination on January 8 found he died of natural causes but police are puzzled by what he was doing in the area at that time.
Officers want to trace a woman who attempted to give Mr Flood heart compressions.
She is described as mixed race, in her mid-20s, wearing a baseball hat and dark coloured tracksuit bottoms. Standing nearby was a black man.
Acting DCI Lorraine Dillon, from Islington CID, said: "The two people involved are in no way suspects.
"I am asking them or any other witnesses to call Islington CID on 020 7421 0195 and tell us what happened before the ambulance service arrived."
