A MEETING will be held about the investigation into the death of a man who was found unconscious in Charlton Park.

Anthony Hoare, from Charlton, was discovered by ambulance crews at around 6pm on September 11.

He was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich, in a critical condition but was declared dead at 6.45pm.

Mr Hoare was the managing director of a market research consultancy which specialised in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

The police are investigating all possibilities but there is no initial evidence that the 49-year-old was the victim of a homophobic attack.

Greenwich police and the homicide investigation team will be at the meeting on October 15 to give updates and answer questions about the case.

It starts at 7pm in the Metro Centre, unit 401, 49 Greenwich High Road, Greenwich.

Call the Metro Centre on 020 8265 3311 for more details about the meeting.

  • Lesley Paul Kingshott, of Victoria Road, Charlton, has been charged with his manslaughter and is set to face crown court.

Kingshott was remanded in custody on Thursday (September 13) after his appearance at Woolwich Magistrates' Court.

He will appear at the Old Bailey on December 20.

  • Two other men, both aged 22, were also arrested in connection with the incident and have been bailed to return to a south London police station in mid-October.
