A TEENAGER has been shot in the face after his car was attacked by a group of men.

The 17-year-old received a bullet wound to his jaw as he sat in his car in Ward Close, Erith, at around 7pm last Saturday.

The injured teen managed to get to his home and phone police, before making his way to Kings College Hospital at Denmark Hill, where he was treated for a bullet wound to his jaw, before being discharged.

The victim has so far been unable to describe the group of men, who also smashed the car windows during the attack.

One line of inquiry being followed by the Met's Operation Trafalgar shootings team is that it may be gang related.

But they say they are keeping an open mind about the motive.

They are appealing for anyone in the Ward Close area at the time who saw anything, or who has any information about the incident, to call in confidence on 020 8217 7355 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
