A 55-YEAR-OLD has been seriously injured after he was struck by a car today.
The man collided with a black cab in Footscray Road, Eltham, near the junction with Southwood Road, at 12.20pm.
He was taken to the Royal London Hospital, in east London.
A spokesman from the Met Police say the man suffered multiple injuries which could be life-threatening.
He is currently in a critical condition.
An appeal for information about the incident has been launched.
Sergeant Ken Smith, who attended the scene, said: "I am appealing for anyone who may have seen anything of this collision.
"It is a residential road and also a busy thoroughfare for traffic to shops and services in the high street.
"Were you walking or driving through the area around lunchtime?
"Were you looking out of a window to the street?
"Did you see anything of this incident?"
The road was closed and traffic diverted following the incident.
