POLICE have released CCTV images as part of an investigation into a knifepoint robbery at a railway station.

The images relate to an incident in Honor Oak Park station and are of two youths who were seen at the station at the time of the robbery.

British Transport Police believe the pair may be able to assist with the investigation.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Paul Langley said: "The victim, a 38-year-old woman, entered the station at around 11.20pm and there was a large group of youths hanging around the station.

"The woman headed towards the stairs on platform one and as she started walking down the stairs a female approached her from behind, threatened her with a knife and demanded money or a mobile phone.

"The woman handed over £15 and the girl left.

"The woman went to take a seat on platform one and then the girl returned, still holding the knife and demanded the woman's mobile phone.

"A passenger on the opposite platform intervened and the girl left the area."

One of the youths in the pictures, which were taken on April 12, is a white girl aged between 14 and 17.

The girl has dark brown, shoulder-length hair and was wearing a dark hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms.

She was with a black youth, aged around 16 to 18, who was wearing a dark coloured hooded tracksuit top with white stripes down the sleeves and dark tracksuit bottoms.

Anyone who can identify the youths should call the Witness Appeal Line on 020 7391 5275, quoting background log B5 of 27/06/2007.
