POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 68-year-old man was sexually assaulted.
The victim was discovered unconscious on the ground with facial injuries by a member of the public at 3am on May 15.
He was taken to a south London hospital for treatment for his injuries and was later released.
Officers from the Met's Sapphire Unit, which investigates sex crimes, believe the incident started near Romborough Way and eventually ended in Lewisham Park between 2.15 - 3am.
They are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the assault or heard or seen anything suspicious.
Police are especially keen to hear from anyone who may have seen two men fighting in Romborough Way, between the Coach and Horse pub and Lewisham Park, a road at the junction with Lewisham High Street at around 2.15 that morning.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Sapphire Unit on 020 8284 8313 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
