AN elderly man has been assaulted and robbed on the driveway of his own home.

The 78-year-old victim was approached as he got out of his car at his home in Station Road, Southfleet, at around 10.15pm on April 21.

His attackers punched him in the face before grabbing a quantity of cash from his trouser pocket.

The victim was taken to Darent Valley Hospital in the early hours of the following morning and was discharged the same day.

He suffered cuts and bruising to his face, as well as a suspected broken nose.

Police investigating the incident believe the victim may have been followed from Asda in Thames Way, Gravesend.
