POLICE are trying to trace a missing Vietnamese teenager and her child.

Dung Thi Nguyen, of Sandhurst Road, Catford, has been missing since 5am on Friday morning.

The 17-year-old is thought to have her 11-month-old daughter Minh Anh Nguyen with her.

Dung is an asylum seeker who came to the UK last year and is studying English, maths and science at Lewisham College.

She understands English well but her spoken English may be a little unclear.

She has blonde hair, tied in a ponytail, is of a thin build, and between 5ft 2 - 5ft 3 tall.

She has a stud in the centre of her chin.

Dung's daughter has short, jet-black hair.

Clothing for Dung and her daughter are missing from her address and she may have some money with her that she has saved from her benefits payments.

Detective Sergeant Michael McElroy of Lewisham Police said: "It is essential that anyone who may have seen Dung and Minh come forward.

"We are concerned for their welfare and need to trace them as soon as possible.

"If Dung herself sees the appeals we ask her get in touch and let us know she is well."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Lewisham Police on 020 8284 8380.
