A 26-YEAR-OLD Bromley man who targeted brothels has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob.

Amariah Linton, of Long Lane, Bromley, will be sentenced at Kingston Crown Court on April 17 for his part in a spate of violent robberies throughout south London over a period of eight months.

Daniel Fuller, of South Norwood, was found guilty of the same charge and one charge of blackmail following a five-week trial.

The prosecutions follow an 18-month investigation by Kingston CID, led by Detective Sergeant Simon Harding, of Kingston police.

Fuller and Linton targeted brothels in Kingston, Twickenham, Wimbledon, Catford and Southwark, between June 2005 and February last year.

The court heard Linton and Fuller were often armed with hammers and baseball bats when they terrified the women working at the brothels into handing over items such as cash and mobile phones.

The pair are said to have threatened extreme violence in some cases.

The investigation began after a worker from an address in Surbiton reported an allegation of robbery to police.

Futher allegations were then made and the robberies began to be linked.

Officers seized CCTV from one of the venues, which led to the arrest of Fuller in January last year.

Fuller was identified by victims and he was charged with robbery offences.

Linton was later identified and arrested the following month.

DS Harding said: "These women were the victims of serious crime.

"We applaud their courage in coming forward and giving live evidence in court.

"Everyone deserves protection of the law and their actions have made it possible to bring these violent men to justice."

Unemployed Fuller, 25, will be sentenced on April 25.
