FLAMES engulfed the driver's cabin of a 269 double-decker in Sidcup this morning.
Firefighters were called at around 9.37 to reports of a fire on a bus in Faraday Avenue.
One fire engine attended the scene and the blaze was under control by 9.52am.
Andrew Davis, who lives in the road, said: "I just looked outside because I thought 'that bus has been there a long time'.
"The driver was talking to two policemen.
"There was a bit of smoke coming out and then the cabin burst in to flames.
Director of Operations for London Buses, Mike Weston, said: "At around 9.40 on Monday March 19 a route 269 double deck bus, operated by SELKENT, experienced a small fire while on Faraday Avenue in Sidcup.
“All passengers were safely disembarked and London Fire Brigade attended the scene. A full and thorough investigation is currently underway.”
