DEVELOPERS behind a £3m redevelopment of Charlton lido plan for the pool to be reopened for the summer holidays.
Greenwich Leisure Limited say the first phase of the development will cost £1.524m, providing a 50 metre heated lido, improved changing facilities, a children's splash pool and new parking.
A further phase of work, still subject to planning approval, could commence in autumn, providing a health and fitness facility, community room, cafe and changing rooms.
The lido, built in the 1930s at Hornfair Park, was until recently leased to private company Open Waters but transferred to GLL after problems securing funding.
Leader of Greenwich Council Cllr Chris Roberts has initially approved £375,000 towards the first phase from the Playground to Podium budget.
Further funding is expected to come from the Mayor of London, Sport England and the London Marathon Charitable Trust.
Completion of phase one is scheduled for June with a public opening in July.
