ELEVEN people have appeared in court following a Valentine’s Day immigration protest.
The group included James Ellison, aged 24, of Africa Road, Brockley, along with 22-year-old Elizabeth Walsh and Marie Guizetti, aged 24, both of Orchard Grove, Orpington.
Their appearance at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court this morning follows on from a protest at an immigration detention centre near Heathrow.
Organised by the No Borders campaign group, the protest was held at Harmondsworth Imigration Removal Centre against a flight deporting people to Ghana.
It lasted from 6pm until 1.30am the following morning.
Ellison is charged with obstructing the highway while Walsh and Guizetti are both accused of public order offences.
They were all bailed at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court to return on March 8.
