Consultation on Bromley North plans

CONSULTATION on new plans to improve Bromley North village is now underway.

The £5 million scheme, which is part funded by Transport for London, will see improvements made to Market Square, High Street North and East Street in Bromley North.

The aim of the scheme is to develop pedestrian friendly, clean and safe open spaces with improvements to the street scene and environment. There will be a focus on attracting new independent businesses and specialist retailers.

The first consultation meeting took place on Monday [October 31].

Councillor Peter Morgan, executive cllr for renewal and recreation, said: “"We have listened carefully to comments from stakeholders and have amended our plans accordingly.

"We now want to hear from residents and others, so if you're interested come along to our events or download the form and give us your feedback.

“We are committed to encouraging investment into the area and promoting conditions for specialist and independent traders to do business and this exciting scheme will bring our vision to fruition."

There will be another meeting to discuss the plans on November 11 at Bromley United Reformed Church between 11am and 7pm.

The plans and consultation documents will be available for viewing and downloading at bromley.gov.uk/bromleynorthvillage.

All responses must be received by Friday 23 December 2011.
