Song fills streets for annual festival
IT WAS a chance for people to show off just how talented they are.
Bexley Arts Council’s annual summer festival was bigger than ever this year, thanks to a grant from Awards For All.
There were two arts and crafts marquees in the pedestrianised area of Bexleyheath Broadway, showing off people’s skills and displays of their work. there was also a children’s marquee where youngsters could test their own talents trying out kite making, crockery painting and making mosaics.
And to entertain shoppers and visitors there were performances from the London African Gospel Choir, MacLennan Scottish Dancers, Mystical Street Dance, the Native American Flute Circle, Bird College and the Riverside Reflections baton twirlers.
The festival was opened by Bexleyheath and Crayford MP David Evennett and Bexley’s new mayor Councillor Brian Beckwith.
