Last month parts of Beckenham were flooded after some heavy rain – as shown in the main picture here.
Since our article was published, we’ve been kindly sent a few more pictures showing previous instances of flooding in the town and nearby.
This first photo is High Street dated from April 10, 1878, with the Greyhound to the right and Christ Church in the background.
And this is Beckenham Road, Penge, on Whit Sunday, 1897.

We’ve also been supplied with this photo of a flood in Beckenham High Street in 1968, Courtesy of Mike Cole, mikecole@dircon.co.uk – it happens to show the photographic shop Le-Roye run by Mike’s father.
