A VINTAGE fire engine helped fundraising efforts for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) in Dartford.
The council’s recently-rescued 1939 Leyland fire engine visited the High Street with Deputy Mayor of Dartford, Councillor Ann Allen last Friday, February 17, as part of the BHF’s go Red for Heart drive.
Fundraising volunteer manager Joanne Howe said: "It was a real attraction and people kindly donated nearly £291."
The BHF said more than 2.7million people in the UK suffer from heart disease and Dartford has been named a Heart Town as residents pledge support for the charity.
More events, such as charity business networking at Cote in Bluewater, a Red Night at Leigh Academy and a Big Circuit event at Acacia Sports Hall will be held in March.
For more information or to get involved in any of the events, contact Joanne Howe on 01474 537997 or howej@bhf.org.uk.
