POLICE are appealing for information following a break-in at a jewellery store.
High-value designer watches were taken by four thieves who forced their way into the Fraser Hart store in Bluewater Shopping Centre, Greenhithe, at around 12.30am on July 25.
The thieves used crowbars to force the front shutters of the premises in Lower Thames Walk.
They wore gloves and concealed their faces with hoods.
Detective Inspector Chris Collier from North Kent Police Station said: “We know that four people broke into the store but think a fifth may have been waiting in a dark-coloured Maserati sports car, which was in a car park close to House of Fraser.
“The thieves took care to hide their faces and took bags into the store with them which they filled with the watches.
“We know that there were still some people around at that time of night, visiting the cinema, and would urge anyone who say anything suspicious to get in touch.”
If you have any information, contact Detective Inspector Collier on 01474 366040.

I am surprised that bluewater don't have the entrances to their carparks locked. But then again their fire exits lead out to the carparks, think they need to step up security really.

What has locking a car park entrance got to do with fire exits lead out to the car parks ? With all the cameras in Bluewater and it's own little Police station a shop still got broken into. Did the alarm go off at the jewellery store ? I'm thinking someone had inside information ! Maserati sports car - Not many of them about.

However Iused to work in bluewater during the night in one of the stores, the carp prak entrances were open at all times so anyone could walk in if they wanted, you never see anyone patrolling bluewater but then again I suppose they sit in a control room looking at a screen.

I was at the cinema a few weeks back. No staff directing anyone. Often the robbery of shops in these places is not reported because the firms don't want the bad publicity.
