Team kitted out to take on rivals

A JUNIOR football team has been launched thanks to a grant of more than £5,500 to buy equipment and kit.

Hexley Rangers, who play at Downsview Community Primary School, Beech Avenue, Swanley, are celebrating getting the equipment needed to become a fully-fledged club.

A grant from the Kent County Council Sevenoaks Local Board provided the team with league-standard goalposts and a secure container to keep equipment in.

The under-12s team also received winter kit with fleece-lined jackets and jogging bottoms.

A total of £5,540 was given to the project.

Club secretary Carol Thomas said: "We are really grateful. Without the secure container we couldn't leave the goalposts outside. "
