A YOUTH football team has been presented with a prestigious award by the chief executive of a professional football club.
Swanley-based Hexley Rangers visited Charlton Athletic FC at the club's home ground, The Valley.
Charlton chief executive Peter Varney presented the 28-strong Hexley Rangers senior squad - made up of players from the under-11s and under-12s teams - with the FA Charter Standard.
The community-based football team received the award for its high standards in coaching, administration and child protection.
Carol Thomas, who helps manage Hexley Rangers, said: "It was a big thrill for them to walk out onto a Premiership pitch to receive such a prestigious award for their club."
