WOMEN from across north Kent attended a health day hosted by a soroptimist club.
Gravesend Soroptimist Club held the event at the Riverside Centre in Dickens Road, Gravesend, last Saturday (March 6) to mark International Women’s Day.
More than 100 women attended to discuss health issues and listen to speeches by experts including Darent Valley Hospital’s programme coordinator for cervical screening Dr Bassam Younes.
The president of the club, which is made up of more than 30 professional women who volunteer to improve their community, says the event was “very informative”.
Naresh Katnoria said: “Audience participation in the workshops and question and answer sessions revealed a number of health related issues which our club can pursue in the future as part of our voluntary work in the community.”
For more information on the club, call Isobel Kesby on 01474 351492.
