POLICE investigating a car explosion in Vigo which left a pregnant woman in hospital have until tonight (March 8) to question a man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Kent Police were granted more time to speak to a 32-year-old man after he was arrested in connection with Friday’s explosion (March 5) which left Victoria Fabian, 32, with serious leg injuries.
He is understood to be Mrs Fabian's husband, Nicholas Fabian, and has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
The county's police force says he can now remain in police custody until “late on Monday night”.
Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to a car park in Highview after the blast at around 1.10pm.
Mrs Fabian was initially airlifted to Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford but has since been moved to an unnamed London hospital for further treatment on her injuries, which are not life threatening.
Her unborn baby is thought to be unharmed.
An eight-year-old boy was also taken to Darent Valley Hospital after the explosion as a precaution and has since been released.
Highview is open again after being cordoned off by police for forensic investigation. Army bomb disposal experts were also called to the scene on Friday.
