STUDENTS have been given awards for their role in teaching fellow pupils about the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse.
Since September, countywide charity Kenward Trust has been teaching students from Longfield Academy and Swan Valley Community School about the risks of boozing and smoking cannabis.
The Year 13 students from the school in Main Road, Longfield, and Year 12 students from the school in Southfleet Road, Swanscombe, then pass on the information to their fellow pupils in all year groups.
Mayor of Dartford Councillor Jennifer Rickwood gave them certificates, to thank them for their efforts, in a ceremony at Dartford Civic Centre at the end of last month.
She said: “Your voluntary work is a shining example of some of the positive initiatives undertaken by the future citizens of the borough of Dartford.”
