GRAVESEND: Trial of brothers accused of attacking 16-year-old girl begins


THE trial of two brothers accused of attacking a 16-year-old girl in Gravesend is due to begin today.

Matthew Godden, aged 28, and Michael Godden, aged 24, both of Preston Road, Northfleet, are scheduled to appear at Maidstone Crown Court at 10am.

Matthew is charged with wounding with intent to cause GBH, assault causing actual bodily harm and assault by beating.

Michael is charged with assault causing actual bodily harm and assault by beating.

All the charges are denied.

The 16-year-old girl, from the Meopham area, was allegedly attacked and stabbed in the neck in Park Avenue, Gravesend, at around 11.20pm on October 2.

She was taken to Darent Valley Hospital and treated for wounds to her neck before being released on October 5.
