AN A level student is having her drawing displayed in a major art gallery exhibition.
Amber Anderson, from The Grammar School for Girls Wilmington in Parsons Lane, is one of 50 A level artists from schools across the UK to have her work exhibited on the Royal Academy of Arts website.
There were originally more than 1,000 entries from artists hoping to be part of the year-long exibition.
Amber’s drawing, entitled The Muscaliet, has the body and head of a hare, nose of a mole, ears of a weasel, tail of a squirrel and the teeth of a boar.
The 17-year-old, who has ambitions to become an illustrator, said: “It’s a combination of animal parts, exploring the concept of drawing animals.
“It’s quite unusual and that’s what made it challenging.
“I wanted to do something that’s not typical.”
