SWANLEY: BNP wins council by-election

Councillor Paul Golding and Michael Barnbrook BNP candidate for East Wickham
THE British National Party (BNP) is celebrating a surprise win at a district council by-election.
Paul Golding won the Swanley St Mary’s ward in Sevenoaks district by 76 votes on Thursday.
It is the first time the BNP has stood in the Sevenoaks District, managing to swipe a safe Labour seat in the Tory-controlled district.
Councillor Golding, aged 27, described it as an historic day for the BNP.
He said: “We organised a very professional and pro-active campaign knocking on every door in Swanley.
“Earlier on in the campaign we didn’t know what to expect but we found that we had huge support in the ward.
“It has been a Labour stronghold for 40 years but I think people were becoming fed-up and were looking for a change.”
Cllr Golding won with 408 votes, with Labour candidate Michael Hogg receiving 332 votes and Conservative candidate Tony Searles 247 votes.
Turnout for the election was 31.3 per cent.
The election came about following the resignation of Labour councillor Lesley Dyball last November.
Cllr Golding, who joined the party in 1999 at the age of 17, as director of publicity, said: “Native British people are sick of being treated like second-class citizens in their own country.
“They are bottom of the list for council houses after asylum seekers and foreigners.
“I will do my best to sort out the problems.”
Councillor Ian Rashbrook, Swanley Town Council leader and agent for the Labour candidate in the by-election, said: “It is a very disappointing result.
“Now we will be working hard to ensure that the BNP do not make any further gains in Swanley or the Sevenoaks district.
“There are lots of reasons why people turned to the BNP, people are very frustrated at the moment and any by-election will be difficult for the Labour Party to win.”
Sevenoaks District Council leader Councillor Peter Fleming said: “It had been Labour’s safest seat in Kent for many years, so this is a terrible blow for Labour.
“I think voters are turning to the BNP because they are scared at the moment, it is an indication of how people feel on a national scale about the Labour Party.”

Next I researched the local labour party and what put me off was their constant bickering a back biting in their newsletter 'The Sentinal' - everything wrong in the area was someone elses fault - never theirs! So, my vote went to the person who sent logical, interesting leaflets (and didn't throw them in my garden like some parties did), kept me updated with the campaign and seemed to have a grip on what is wrong with Swanley and indeed our country today.
The BNP has moved on from the bully boys days and are a party to start taking seriously.
The Labour party and the Conservative party shouild start looking to what they can offer residents or be prepared for more disappointment.

I've read their manifesto and nowhere does it say anything about forced repatriation - perhaps some people are just scaremongering? which so often happens when political left-wing extremists try their dirty tricks to which no one is listening to anyway

Perhaps this shows everyone the country as a whole is fed up with our laws and life style being shaped to fit in with a multi cultural society,our way of life is at risk.

perhaps it's time you demonstrated a bit of respect for these generous & noble hearted people before you get carried away with your socialist mentors. To be fair though the ethnic minorities in the UK are as much victims of the New World Order communists as the indigenous people's whose democracy you were invited in to dilute & render meaningless. Divide & Rule is the reason an old & tired british colonial trick, still works obviously. My advise is buy a piece of land in your homeland as the UK is no longer going to be a soft target.

I am not fooled by BNP PR, I am not fooled by their new glossy look, I am not fooled by their words. The BNP are Nazis and just like in the thirties in Germany, the BNP are targeting indigenous people with untruths and misdirection to move the focus away from the true causes of the problems this country faces and place the cause at the door of immigration.

The fact is the BNP is a valid political party and people are free to vote for them if they wish, political discrimination is becoming a major issue and is maybe one that should be looked into more, surely in this day and age people should be free to believe in whatever they like even if you disagree with it.
I dislike Labour intensely for what they have done to this country but I don't insult people I have never met and I don't make generalisations about the people that chose to vote for them, it is down to individual choice and if we are to have a fair society then everybody should be able to agree and disagree with each other and more importantly agree to disagree.
People have a right to vote, they have a right to decide who to vote for and if they decide that the BNP are the better people for the job and lots of people agree with them then the BNP will quite rightly and fairly win seats just the way the other major political parties do and have done for many years.

I too fear for the future if these 'Blame it on the...' folk have their way.
When they have finished blaming immigrant's, who will they blame next?
The disabled, the elderly? Saying they cost too much and are a drain on society.
As you rightly say we've been and are glad enough for the commonwealth counties, and other nation's peoples, help in times of war, or to do our dirty jobs etc.
If we could only realise that more could be accomplished by caring about each other, and working at making his a better world for all.
We are really a global village, travel almost any where in the world is possible, relatively easily. Trade with other countries is a necessity.
We can not close ourselves off from the larger world, even if we wanted to.
So why not embrace this realization, and work at making it a fairer world for all.
Maybe then less people would feel the need to leave their own homelands, to come to this country for a better life, as we also do, by going to places like Australia incidentally.
Britain has a history of exploration to further trade, and also exploitation to strip countries of their assets. The price of both of these has enriched our community with a wide diversity of peoples and cultures.
If we wanted to stay insular, we should have stayed a home and not ventured out to the world ourselves.

I guess we just have to be more tolerant of other political parties ~ nothing more to say is there really,they were elected in a fair and proper election ~ end of!

Some people have said about 'free speech' the right to own opinions and free debate...Absolutly, I agree, which is why we are able to enter into this dialogue here and now, but if the BNP were ever to gain real power and control... heaven help us! I doubt we would be allowed these prized privileges for long.
Those of you who have been convinced, or are trying to convince yourselves, that the BNP are now some kind of benevolent, benefactor's of salvation, may be fooled, but fortunately the TOLERANT, FREE SPEECH, advocates in British society are NOT.

I think somepeople may just be slow or are still being sheep.
All they need to do is look around and see, open their blinkered eyes and to not have their thinking controled by number 10.

However I don't think a party that refuses to recognise long-standing settlers and citizens as British unless they are white is the one to vote for. There are many people in the country whose families have been here for years who are fully intergrated and productive and yet have immigrant backgrounds. Oddly enough they would not be considered for BNP membership, even though to most people's minds they are British. That tells me all I need to know about their plans.

I can however understand your frustrations with the mainstream parties (and by the way I'm neither a left winger nor a Tory, I don't read the guardian, or even eat that cardboard cereal) but what I would say is if you think Lib/Lab/con are such useless parties, why not get involved in the one nearest to your beliefs, and you can change it from within, if more dissatisfied people did this, changes would be made.
Please don't be fooled into thinking any one party is going to be the answer to all life's and this countries problems.
Running a country is not an easy task, and some of the problems our country and most others are facing now, have very complex routes and some have come about as a result of our modern way of living.

Why are they here?
Why because them and the rest of their people have made such a mess of their own country and made it such a bad place to be.
Its so easy here to get handouts of many kinds, they can get laws changed, free housing,free transport,free NHS,they can create their own communities,use the race card to get anything they want.
Take jobs from british people by under cutting the min,wage that they will work for,making parts of the country no go areas.

MB - Its an estate built around about end of send world war. There are many elderly couples who have raised their children there and are law abiding and hard working. Then a very large population of settled Traveller families and single mothers and families who have never worked a day in their lives - I know I recognise these people from school. The immigrants are not a problem in this area and they are certainly not a drain on rescorces as these families are

As details of the latest stabbing deaths in London unfolds, it appears that they are part of what locals have described as a “race war” between Afghan and Somali youths.
In the latest incident, 19-year-old Somali-born Kul Hawadleh was stabbed to death in Wealdstone, north-west London. He was knifed in the chest by a group of Afghanis who confronted him at a service station.
A friend of Hawadlet, Abdul Hassan, 22, told a newspaper that he had been attacked “in a race gang war by Afghanis.” He said: ‘I’m sure the guys who killed Hassan didn’t know him; they are just targeting any Somalis.
“There was a stabbing on Wednesday, and then yesterday afternoon two of my other friends got ran up to by a gang of guys in bandanas. They are all Afghan or black and they are targeting Somalis.”
Mr Hawadleh’s sister, Ubed was quoted as saying that “We have a real problem in society today — stabbing has just become the norm — it has replaced fist fighting. People’s lives are no longer valued.”
Another friend, 23-year-old Issaq Soul, said: “There is a war going on between the Afghans and the Somalis. The tension has been building. They want to call the shots around here. They are completely lawless.”
Only a few hours later, yet another black youth was stabbed to death in Leytonstone Road, opposite Maryland rail station in east London. Bleir Xhana, 26, who runs a bar yards from where the second incident happened, said: “A customer walked in and said they saw a black guy just lying there on the zebra crossing near the station. I didn’t know what had happened to the boy but I was horrified and afraid. To be honest it is quite dangerous round here.”
Last year, 28 teenagers were stabbed to death in the capital, with only a handful of the victims being indigenous British.
Is this the Britain for which so many people died defending? Is this the sort of society to which this nation aspires?
Where our capital city is turned into a Third World theatre of war between battling gangs from the far corners of the earth?
This tragic situation has been brought about by decades of catastrophic Tory and Labour rule. I used Hart Dyke Road to show I was familiar with the area.
Unfortunately a small number of people, who think laws do not apply to them, can have a very detrimental effect on a Town. Swanley is an excellent example or this. The vast majority are hard working and law abiding but the few make their lives a misery.
Traveller families having respect for their communities. They don't seem to have much respect in Swanley.
I may not be 'better' than the people I went to school with but I certainly haven't sat on my backside while the state supports me.
My family live locally in houses they have worked hard to buy. I know the name of everyone in my street and I've lived in the same house for over 20 years. I haven't prepared a hot meal for a friend or neighbour because they are all fit and healthy at the moment.
I've been reading the other posts that you've pasted from other web sites and publications. When was the last time anyone is Swanley was attacked by an immigrant?????

you don't frighten anyone from voting for the bnp,it's every persons right to vote bnp and there is nothing you can do about it.
please report ANY doctor or nurse you suspect of racist behaviour, watch what they say and do and report them at once,it will be investigated by the management and they can be struck off the register.
