FROM April, the Kent Countrywide bus pass for free off-peak travel for the over-60s will include a passport-sized photograph.
Sevenoaks District Council will be writing to the 9,000 residents who currently have the bus pass to inform them of the changes, which come into effect from April 1.
Photographic identification is being introduced to combat fraud.
Until now, residents over 60 or those with certain disabilities have been able to request a pass just by completing an application form.
Bus pass holders will be asked to send in a passport-sized photograph with their renewal form by the end of January.
The new photo cards can be issued before the current passes expire on March 31.
For further information, call the council on 01732 227000 or e-mailinformation@sevenoaks.
