Going on the run to live healthily

A WHOLE school donned running shoes in a bid to kick-start a healthy lifestyle.

All 480 pupils from Whitehill Primary School, Sun Lane, Gravesend, took part in the cross country event.

Each runner tried to complete as many laps as possible of a 600m circuit.

This is the first time the event has been held since Whitehill Infant School and Whitehill Junior School amalgamated.

Headteacher Jane Porter says the event, which will be held every year, encourages a healthy lifestyle among pupils.

She said: "Every child was involved and took part to raise their heart levels."
