YOUNG filmmakers have persuaded one of Britain's top bands to let them use one of their hits as the soundtrack to their film.

The youngsters, from Bexley youth groups, were commissioned to make a film about bullying and racism to be included in a resources pack for schools.

And part of the soundtrack for the film features I Predict a Riot by Leeds band Kaiser Chiefs.

The 17-minute film, Stand Up, Speak Up, was made on location at Charlton Athletic's Valley ground, and features a fictional mixed football academy, whose members have to face up to challenging situations and difficult decisions.

It was inspired by discussions with other young people during the Bexley Youth Summit earlier this year.

The film, written, directed and performed by youngsters aged 16 to 19, premiered at Bexleyheath's Cineworld on December 18.

The film equipment was provided by the Albany Theatre, Deptford, and funded by Charlton Athletic FC and the Learning, Skills and Development Agency.
