A GROUP devoted to preserving Bexley's past has celebrated the launch of its latest exhibition.

Bexley Archaeological Group held an open evening at Hall Place, Bourne Road, Bexley, where the exhibition will run until February, with some special guests.

The evening began with an illustrated talk by the group's professor of archaeology Dr David Vicerey-Weekes.

Representatives of other heritage and history groups were among the guests along with Headley Swain, who is an archaeologist at the Museum of London.

As well as a preview of the free exhibition, which features archaeological finds from Bexley stretching across the centuries, there was musical entertainment with a choral and guitar recital by Matthew and Suzanne Sear.
