A RESIDENT whose half-built pair of semi-detached houses do not conform to their planning permission, has been told he must remedy the situation or face enforcement.
Tony Smith got planning permission to build the four-bedroom houses on the former back garden of 62 Parkhurst Road, Bexley, in September 2005.
But after construction began last year, residents in Knoll Road, where the new homes will be located, and Parkhurst Gardens, became concerned the houses were much higher and bulkier than they had been led to believe from the orginal drawings.
An independent surveyor took measurements which showed that, although the houses were not too tall, the eaves were much higher than expected and so was the new houses' height in comparison with its neighbours.
This led Bexley Council's planning department to conclude the original drawings had been misleading.
Bexley's planning control committee was told there were also 15 changes from the orginal planning permission.
Mr Smith said measurements had proved the houses were built to the correct height and claimed there was "an orchestrated campaign" against them.
But his application to retain the houses as they are now, was unanimously rejected.
